I recently bought a 95 9000 Aero, I always knew they have reverse lights on the front but forgot the 94-98 9000 dropped one reverse light to accommodate a rear fog light but didn't realize they had reverse lights in the front signal lights.

cornering lights! They have done that since the 900 Classic, maybe earlier.

probably only in America though.

The "one reversing light, one fog light" thing is everywhere.

maybe, I will have to look. I think my stepmoms old 88 9000 turbo from the German home market had them

Safety. Got to let those people in front of you know that you're going to be backing up!

My 86 900 flatnose convertible has them, as well as my 2002 9-3. Oddly enough when I installed the Euro spec clear corners on my 9-3, the holes were filled in where the front reverse lights would go.

I think the '77 and later 99s had that as well.

Hey man, i used to have a 1997. let me know if you have any quirks/questions.

IMO, that is the finest car saab ever made, and it's far better than anything you can buy today for driver enjoyment. I have a viggen, but it's not as well mannered as the 9K was same power, but th e9k could lay it down, my 13 GTI isn't nearly as much of a turbo beast...

plus...ugh...the 2000mile seats are amazing all day long.

Good to hear from you Carlman! Hows the new Volvo treating you? I love the ATHF Carl avatar btw.

Funny I've had two other 9000s which were first generations, a 1990 9000S and a 1986 9000 turbo (first year for the 9000 in USA) and I like the 9000s. The second generation is so much better and I love those big bolstered seats with my back pains. This thing is a tank, and I like driving it more than my 9-3 for some reason. I like Italian cars too so the Type4 platform the 9000 rides on always interested me, and just had to take pics of my white 90 9000S alongside its Italian cousin, a Lancia Thema my friend imported.

Volvo life isn't half bad, given that half of the originally configured driven wheels are no longer in said state. Have to do some new hub assemblies in the coming weeks to quiet the thing down, but otherwise it's solid. So far one of the best $700 hoopties I've had.
